Uniform

Basic equipment
Each new child will be given a black ink handwriting pen and an HB pencil at the start of their first year. We do not permit the use of biros or ballpoint pens by pupils.

Other equipment that your child will find useful:

  • 30 cm. ruler
  • Eraser
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Pencil case
  • Set of colouring pencils (not felt tip pens)

Children must wear school uniform every day.

Please write your child’s name on all items of clothing as the school will not accept responsibility for any items of lost clothing.

Non-logo items and standard pieces, such as trousers and polo shirts, can be purchased from supermarkets and high street retailers.

BOYS
Winter uniform
(autumn and spring terms):

  • Black or dark grey trousers (no track suits).
  • White shirt or school polo shirt.
  • Scarlet sweatshirt, jumper or cardigan.
  • Black shoes (no trainers).

Optional summer uniform
(summer term):

  • White polo shirt.
  • Dark grey/black shorts.
GIRLS
Winter uniform

  • Black or grey skirt or trousers (no track suits).
  • White blouse or school polo shirt.
  • Scarlet sweatshirt, jumper or cardigan.
  • Black shoes (no trainers).

Optional summer uniform
(summer term):

  • Red/white checked or striped dress.
  • Plain white, grey or black socks/tights.

PE clothes

In addition to school uniform, pupils are required to have specific
clothing for PE. These items should be stored in a named draw string bag at school.

It is desirable for PE clothes to be washed regularly and a change of socks provided weekly.

Please write your child’s name on all items of clothing and bags.

BOYS
  • Black/navy shorts.
  • Scarlet or white t-shirt/polo shirt.
  • Black plimsolls (for indoor and summer PE, drama and movement lessons).
  • Football boots/training shoes (for outdoor games during winter).
  • Sweater or tracksuit (for use during low temperatures).
GIRLS
  • Black/navy gym pants or shorts.
  • Scarlet or white t-shirt/polo shirt.
  • Black plimsolls (for indoor and summer PE, drama and movement lessons).
  • Football boots/training shoes (for outdoor games during winter).
  • Sweater or tracksuit (for use during low temperatures).

Jewellery

For safety reasons, stud earrings and wrist watches are the only jewellery permitted. Stud earrings are the responsibility of parents/carers and must be removed for PE, games and swimming lessons. If you are considering having your child’s ears pierced, please do so at the beginning of the summer holiday. If a watch is worn, please ensure that it is named or can be identified.

Mobile phones, toys and games

Mobile phones are discouraged in school. However, in exceptional circumstances, permission is granted if parents/carers agree in writing to take responsibility for any loss or damage. Mobile phones will be kept by class teachers or the office during the day and returned to children at home time.

Hair
Sensible hair styles are required for all pupils.
No extremes
e.g. no shaven heads, dying of hair, tram lines or razor cuts.

Please ensure that long hair is tied up, away from the face.

Make up
We do not permit nail varnish and other make up to be worn at school.
